November 11, 2017

Île-à-Vache is an island of 128 km2 in size that bathes in the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, just 5.50 nautical miles from the coastal town of Les Cayes. From Port-au-Prince, the city of Les Cayes is easily accessible by car and charter flights arrive at the regional airport. From the port of Les Cayes, the crossing takes 20 minutes by boat.

The Story of the Cow Island tells that it was a haven for pirates and goat hunters from where it acquired the nickname "The Treasure Island." If you want to visit Isle-à-Vache, it It is important to plan ahead as there are currently only two private hotels on the island. Ile-à-Vache is a real paradise. You will think you are on a deserted island hosted by a community of friendly people and a very refined creole and international cuisine.
